Tutor / Academic Coaching In All Subjects Los Angeles

What's the difference between a Tutor and an Academic Coach? The term "tutor" is widely used to describe someone who helps students with their schoolwork outside of the traditional classroom setting.  No teaching experience, proof of content knowledge, or credential are required of a tutor.  Tutors are often high school or college students or recent graduates providing homework help.  In contrast, we only have Mentor Teachers (teachers who have experience training teachers) at The College Bridge.  Our teachers have years of experience analyzing student work, developing curriculum and instruction, identifying and correcting students' misconceptions, preparing and analyzing assessments, and perfecting their craft through professional development, credentialing programs, advanced degrees and lifelong learning.  Therefore, we use the term "Academic Coach" for our faculty.  An Academic Coach identifies your strengths and weaknesses and provides academic interventions while helping you excel in your coursework.  They help with study skills, learning strategies, organization techniques and time management.
